Career Advisor Appointments
Career Advisors are available for appointments through a virtual/ online delivery option (Teams in Office 365). To book an appointment, login to your Experience Guelph account and in the left hand menu, click on "Career" and then "Appointments".
There are limits to the number of appointments you can cancel, as well as the number of appointments that you do not attend. The maximum number of cancelled appointments (per semester) is set at three (3). The maximum number of no-show (unattended) appointments (per semester) is set at two (2). After you reach this maximum, the system will not let you book an appointment and you will have to speak to our office to have this rectified.
Peer Helper Services
Please note that the Peer Helpers are unavailable during exam periods and for the summer semester. They will return on the first day of class in the fall. To receive support with your job search during these times, please book an appointment with a Career Advisor.
Applications for graduate school or other further education should be seen by a Career Advisor, as Peer Helpers only assist with applications for employment or volunteering. We are happy to provide two different ways to connect with a Peer Helper.
1. Booked Appointments
Login to Experience Guelph and select Career > Peer Appointments to book a time to meet with a Peer Helper through a Microsoft Teams video call. Peer Helpers are available Monday & Thursday from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, and Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Note that bookings in Experience Guelph must be made 48 hours in advance, but we may be able to provide a same-day appointment. Please email email@example.com indicating the times you are available and the nature of your appointment, and we may be able to book you in for a time to meet with a Peer Helper on the same business day.
2. Email Correspondence
We recognize that rural internet connections, challenging living situations and other factors can be a barrier to meeting with a Peer Helper via video call. This is why we are also offering the option for you to email in your documents for feedback.
To receive feedback on your resume, cover letter or LinkedIn profile via email, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and a Peer Helper will reply with feedback in the comments of your document within 24 hours.
