New U of G Apprenticeship Program Bridges Gap to Employment

Posted on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019

The Guelph Arts Apprenticeship Program (GAAP) is designed to help College of Arts students secure meaningful employment in the city of Guelph immediately after graduation. The program will help students showcase the transferrable skills they have acquired throughout their degree and will connect them directly to employers who want to hire people with their skill set.

Students will apply to positions that may be untraditional or outside the norm for Arts graduates, but the positions will be ones that our grads are fully capable of pursing. The goal of this program is to close the gap between graduation and meaningful full-time employment. To facilitate these hires, The University of Guelph has partnered with the City of Guelph’s Economic Development Department to help build connections with local employers.
