It was a very exciting year for the CECS Peer Helpers!
Last week Co-operative Education & Career Services awarded students for their outstanding participation in the University of Guelph co-op program. Among the student award winners were Andrew Crawford, Christopher Muirhead and Brittney McManus.
The reception at Cutten Fields also recognized outstanding co-op employers. This year, the Co-op Employer of the Year Awards were presented to The City of Mississauga, Environmental Services Section, and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
Each year, Co-operative Education & Career Services at the University of Guelph recognizes the success of Co-op Students and Employers with three different awards. All of these awards will be presented at the Co-op Awards reception to be held on Thursday March 10, 2016, from 4-6pm at Cutten Fields.
If you are a 1st year student interested in transferring into co-op, it may not be too late for you to apply!
Co-op & Career Services is accepting applications from 1st year students. Interested students must go through the co-op application process. Students applying should be studying full-time and have a 70% cumulative average to be considered and there must be space available in the co-op program you are applying to.
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the launch of a new grant program, the Abilities Connect Fund. This initiative aims to raise awareness among employers about the benefits of hiring, integrating, and retaining people with disabilities in the workplace.
