Co-operative Education & Career Services is pleased to announce that one of its own co-op students, Justin Michael, is the recipient of Education at Work Ontario’s (EWO) 2012 Co-op Student of the Year Award in the University category. Justin was nominated for his strong contributions during his employment as a Human Factors Student Analyst at University Health Network (UHN). The news release identifying the Co-op Student of the Year award winners which was sent to EWO members on March 20 praised the co-op student for demonstrating “…initiative, flexibility, adaptability, competence, trustworthiness and strong communication skills,” through which “the overall effectiveness of their team at UHN were enhanced...” The award consists of a financial reward and a plaque. A formal public announcement about Justin’s award was delivered on Thursday, March 21 at the Co-op Awards Reception held by Co-operative Education & Career Services at Cutten Fields in Guelph. News of the student’s prestigious award was delivered moments after Justin was also recognized by the University of Guelph's Co-operative Education & Career Services department as the winner of the 2012 Co-op Student of the Year in the Science & Engineering category.

Co-operative Education & Career Services is extremely proud of Justin, currently in his third year of the Bachelor of Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Co-op program.  Justin provides yet another strong example of the value of co-operative education. We wish Justin all the best!
